My blockout rigs
Just a quick one - heres the blockout rigs for my main character for when hes an All Star and when hes a Has Been.

Oh and someone on MaxPro (3DSMax software mailing list for senior artist professionals, veterans) sent around this - WOW !!!!. Normally tech doesn't excite me much but this is way cool.

Hi,
Great work got there!
Would you please explain your way of rigging...usually bones are built inside the character, but your rig has no bones...I'm curious about this kind of rigging, could it be achieved with any kind of characters, and if yes, is it the best way to rig a character, I've saw something like that in Maya rigged character "Great Dane"
Thanks, and keep the good work !
Hey Ghassen -
Thanks for comments - these blockout rigs are used often and they retain the proportions of the character but ignore the deformation of skin. It makes for easier blocking out, and makes it more focused on the action, i.e finesse can come later.
With the question about 'no bones' - any mash object in 3D can be a bone so you could just use the mesh cut up or you can use a bone skeleton underneath and skin the cut up mesh 100% to the relative bone.
